So here's my first contribution to this young, upstart blog. And in the spirit of beginning things and tenuous links to good music, here's a song called "Starting a Band" by a group named Chester French. The song is taken from their free mixtape "Jacques Jams", features producer Clinton Sparks, and has a great pop rock sound- perfect for the summer months. The entire mixtape itself features a good range of guests too, including Cassie, N.O.R.E., Solange, Wale and Pharrell.
The album was given away for free by the band (possibly because they're awesome?) and is probably still out there somewhere in the ether. I hear they're set to support Blink 182 with Weezer in the summer- a sign of things to come for these guys no doubt.
