Chuckie vs. LMFAO

I don't know much about this song, and only recognise one of the names in the title in the form of LMFAO, but after hearing it on radio 1 today it just had to be shared right away. MTDT will let you know when it's learnt any more about this tune.

Searching for a song that i liked and wouldn't get bored of, really did pay off last night. I've not heard much from this artist but the guy really has give a good first impression.
This even got played mutiple times at a cricket club party and still went down a treat. A must must must have!

Get Me Some Money Too

I thought I'd take this time to introduce myself; being a new member of the MTDT family 'an all!

I mainly associate myself around house and tech, something a bit different from the usual MTDT genres. Different being good!

A pretty darn good, old song (in more ways than one) to start my epic adventure into the wonderful world of MTDT. It was originally sung by Lillian Green in the 1930s sometime and still makes an absolutely awesome tune in modern days.

Pothead

This conversation from a friend of ours who ate his ice cream in liquid form because he was to half baked to put it in the freezer, now here at MTDT we don't condone the use of marijuana or similar substances, but that conversation is funny.

Jeuce

After reading a post on another blog very familiar to me, Follow the dark, I saw a post about Jeuce after scanning my computer it seems I subconsciously new about these lads as well and due to my ignorance in not listening to everything I download I missed them out completely, what a mistake that was. From what I gather there from Leeds and are gathering pace with every new release (they could live in my street for all I know). Heres just one of there reworks, so get listening and I'll keep an eye out for them. dab on.

A-Trak

I have to admit to not listening a great deal to the original yeah yeah yeah tracks, and only seem to have heard the synth pop type tracks that have come just lately. I only ever seem to find them in my itunes with brackets next to the the title, the most listened to being the passion pit remix of heads will roll which is pretty techno and not really my kind of thing. This remix by A-trak however is a lot more up my street/our street and he's worked his magic again by stretching this bouncy track out for miles, which I'm sure will get played a lot lot more. Dab on.

Metric

I never claimed to be current when I started this blog, and proof of that lies in my posting about Metric here. Hailing from the (what I assume to be) snowy wastes of Canada, they've been around for a good number of years now. However, seeing these guys on the billing for this years Leeds Festival (and Reading Festival, but who gives a shit about those guys right?) reminded me to dig out their album Fantasies. It's a solid album, and here's the leading single from the album, 'Help, I'm Alive'.

Calvin Harris, Park Parties and Missing Posts

So I dunno what happened to my last post on Doorly- must be something to do with Blogger. But anyway the news that Calvin Harris is playing Party in the Park @ Temple Newsam in Leeds tomorow has inspired me to repost at least one of the songs I linked to the other day. Now all I need is to find a ticket from somewhere...

A Very British Summer

It happens every year in Britain. Summer seems non existant and people spend their time in doors complaining about it. Following on from my fellow bloggers earlier post, here are the songs that make summer seem like it could last forever. Perfect with a few beers and some good company.

Classic rock! This needs no introduction really.

Here's a slightly more up to date tune by electronic duo Royksopp. They've been around for years apparently, making good music quietly, slipping under the radar of the mainstream almost entirely. This might just be the happiest sounding song I've ever heard though so it comes highly recommended, as does the album 'Junior'.

So when the sun goes down you need something to go crazy to, right? Hostage will do just nicely with the song Pirates. Most every song I've ever heard by Hostage has an insanely infectious energy about it that doesn't give you much of a choice about dancing all night.

July Rain

Here at MTDT, even if it's raining in July as it is today we try not to forget what we live for and that's summer. So as we're all in the same boat, sat in our bedrooms, lounges and crack dens avoiding the weather only ducks can love, let's not forget that it is still technically summer. So here's some music that we love to listen to when we're laid in a field and the sun is shining.

Groove Armada-At the river

A good long song that's been featured in plenty of summer mixes and probably used on millions of adverts, but I still think it's ace. It's got catchy lyrics that even my grandma knows so why wouldn't you listen to it.

Bumblebeez-Rio (Boy 8-bit remix)

I love any thing with the words boy 8-bit attached to it and this is no exception. Listen to 2:00 minutes plus at least and impress your nearest and dearest with your best chuffle shuffle, every one loves a laugh when it's raining like this.

The Bellamy Brothers- Let your love flow

from the Barclay card advert and I've been whistling it for at least a whole day now and so should you.

Djedjotronic

I don't know much about this DJ yet!, but after listening to Djedjotronic's Mixtape 6 to 5 megamix, rammed with remixes that I love like boy 8-bit's remix of bumblebeez, rio and the Proxy remix of Digitalisms, home zone, it was like my favourite iTunes compressed into 50 minutes of madness. So I was looking forward to any thing that he released this year with his name attached to it and the remix of Major lazers, Hold the line is exactly the sort of electronic stuff I'll be listening to this summer and is definitely a perfect solution to any boring 3 minutes 58 seconds I might encounter this July. Enjoy

Circlesquare

Circlesquare is Canadian Jeremy Shaw's one man project. He manages to combine a stripped down sound with a distinctly electronic edging to create something incredibly atmospheric. Add to this distinctly personal lyrics, and you've got an album for freezing early mornings and bad news. Melancholy indeed. But in a good way. Taken from the most recent album "Songs About Dancing and Drugs":

Real Post Time- Chester French

So here's my first contribution to this young, upstart blog. And in the spirit of beginning things and tenuous links to good music, here's a song called "Starting a Band" by a group named Chester French. The song is taken from their free mixtape "Jacques Jams", features producer Clinton Sparks, and has a great pop rock sound- perfect for the summer months. The entire mixtape itself features a good range of guests too, including Cassie, N.O.R.E., Solange, Wale and Pharrell.

The album was given away for free by the band (possibly because they're awesome?) and is probably still out there somewhere in the ether. I hear they're set to support Blink 182 with Weezer in the summer- a sign of things to come for these guys no doubt.

Member Intro

I'll be posting on MTDT as well, so hello world from me also. As I've just walked home from my fellow bloggers house in the rain and on a Monday I reckon my first item should be relevant.
